Kings Master Plan Holding Image

At the end of 2019 King’s launched Next Horizona new capital campaign. Led by former Board Chair and Old Collegian Ross Green, funds raised through this campaign will enable the College to implement the initial stages of the long-term Master Property Plan, which sets out a vision for the development of the College over the next thirty years or more.

At its core, the Next Horizon campaign is about King’s College being able to deliver a world-class educational experience for our students into the 21st century. That means world-class teachers and a broad range of subjects that will prepare our students for the vast myriad of career choices available to them. It also means world-class facilities and the integration between the core educational curriculum and the extensive variety of co-curricular options on offer.

Our first major project was the Creative Minds campaign driving fundraising for the new Performing Arts Centre, Toi Manawa, which opened in March 2024. Work is currently underway on the High Performance Gym due to be completed late 2024. This will be followed by a series of refurbishments and improvements toteaching and learning spaces, boarding facilities and Chapel restoration.

You can learn more about our Master Property Plan and the Thematic Plan via the videos below. The Thematic Plan will guide any future development while respecting the unique historic buildings and spaces.
