Boys at King's

Boys have been attending King’s College since it was founded in 1896.

They can begin their academic journey at King’s College from Year 9, entering our junior school programme which covers Years 9 and 10 and includes a wide range of courses to prepare them for their senior years.

At senior school level, students can choose between NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) and CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) pathways. Find out more about our dual pathways here.

Network for life

Our House system underpins the positive, supportive culture at King’s and encourages our students to build strong relationships right across the College. Friendships developed at King’s are often lifelong, providing our Old Collegians with a lasting network of friends and future colleagues.

Leadership opportunities

Leadership development is another key part of the overall King’s experience. Our House system, the Chapel, and the many sporting teams and co-curricular groups all offer excellent environments for our students to develop their leadership skills.

Our boys go on to achieve success during school and later as proud Old Collegians of King’s, taking on a number of significant leadership opportunities in New Zealand and abroad.
