Support King's College

The support of our community enables us to continue to offer the best education possible.

As a private college, we value our independence—and it is the philanthropic support of our wonderful donors and sponsors that allows us to ensure that this independence endures. The generosity of our community also allows us to offer a King’s education to many talented students who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

There are many ways you can support King’s: one-off gifts, ongoing donations, bequests, and by establishing or contributing to scholarships or bursaries. Find out more about these channels here.

Volunteer with the Friends

The Friends of King's College Association is the best avenue for parents and whānau to support the College and its students.

The Friends foster a strong sense of community and whanaungatanga, and are an integral and very valued part of King’s as a whole. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, volunteer, and meet other families.

Make a donation

Any donation you can make helps to ensure the independence of King’s college, the ongoing quality of education for current and future students, and the availability of scholarships to those who need them. The King’s College Foundation is the vehicle for gifting, established with the sole purpose of securing the ongoing independence and success of the College, as well as funding scholarships, bursaries, special programmes, and development.

All gifts are tax deductible, and those who gift the College more than $5,000 are eligible to join the Foundation. Get in touch with the Development Team by emailing donations@kingscollege.school.nz.

Scholarship funding

It’s a privilege to be able to grant scholarships to students who show academic, sporting, and cultural merit or promise—one that is made possible by generous support from various members of the King’s community.  Our range of full or partial scholarships cover tuition and/or boarding to create valuable opportunities for young people across Aotearoa. Many of our donors were once scholarship recipients themselves; such is the power of the King’s legacy!

Considering creating or contributing to a scholarship? Email the development team at donations@kingscollege.school.nz.

Leave a gift in your will

To remember King’s College in your will is a fantastic way to offer enduring support. Every bequest makes a huge difference to the next generation of rangatahi (young people). They can be tagged for a specific purpose (scholarships, bursaries, special purpose funds, facilities) or unrestricted to be used at the school’s discretion.

A notified bequest may also make you eligible for membership of the King’s College Foundation, which will bring with it invites to special occasions at the College. To find out more, email the development team at donations@kingscollege.school.nz.

The King’s community is made up of Old Collegians, past parents, current parents, students, and staff. It is a group proud to celebrate success and excellence.

The school holds significance for many people and it continues to be a central hub for the connections made here. For more than a century, the King’s Courier has been the flagship communication within the King’s community. Today, it is mailed directly to more than 8,500 recipients three times per year.

Our digital versions of the Courier magazines receive on average 162,500 unique page views each year. The majority of the King’s Courier magazines are distributed to addresses in suburbs around the central Auckland area. Approximately half of these go to the suburbs of Remuera (24%), St Heliers (5%), Parnell (5%), Epsom (5%) and Mt Eden (3%).
