Key Policies

Our policies set out expectations and guidelines for staff and students, with the aim of creating a harmonious, safe, and nurturing environment on campus.

Student Protection Policy

It's important to us to keep our students safe and healthy. You can read our Student Protection Policy here.

Historic bullying

It is every student’s right to be safe and feel safe at school.

We have made significant strides over many years in creating a culture at the College that supports and encourages student well-being. We have invested heavily in a commitment to pastoral care that emphasises the importance of student care and respect for others.

This includes the development of Student Guidelines and Discipline Policies that make it clear any breaches of major school rules, including bullying, harassment, and gross misconduct, will not be tolerated. These policies are regularly reviewed and updated and are published each year in our Student Handbook. The College has also developed a Student Protection Policy and associated processes to safeguard the well-being of our students.

The College recognises and acknowledges that not all students have had a positive experience during their time at King’s College and we know that, amongst our Old Collegian community, there are those who suffered bullying or other negative experiences. For that, we sincerely apologise to all former students and their families.

Talking about your experience

In acknowledging and apologising for these past experiences, we continue to encourage former students to contact the College, our Board Chair Shan Wilson or Headmaster Simon Lamb should they wish to bring anything to their attention.
