With the retirement of our legendary Head of Cricket and First XI Coach Dipak Patel this year, we are pleased to announce the new First XI coaching team for 2025.
Old Collegian PJ Cairns (Marsden, 2003-04) is a former First XI player who was a key member of the winning Gillette Cup side of 2004. He will be stepping up from coaching the 2nd XI for the past three years to take on the prestigious role of Head Coach of the 1st XI.
Assisting PJ will be current First XI coach and academic staff member James Reyburn who previously played a highly level of cricket in the UK being a former County/Midlands Schoolboy age group representative and County 2nd XI player, alongside former Auckland Aces and NZ Emerging Players representative Lance Shaw.
All three highly skilled coaches bring a wealth of experience and expertise which will significantly benefit all of our King’s College cricketers. We are excited to see what they will achieve in 2025.
