2024 Academic Results Summary

At the College, academic achievement is at the core of everything we do. We take great pride in our students’ successes, consistently ranking among the top-performing schools in New Zealand.

Our 2024 results once again reflect the dedication and hard work of our students, the expertise of our teaching staff and the strength of our academic programmes across both the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) pathways.

University Entrance Success

King’s College continues to excel in university entrance results, with an outstanding 97% of students achieving University Entrance (UE) through CIE and 90% achieving UE via NCEA.

Overall, a remarkable 93% of our students across both CIE and NCEA pathways gained UE, which is almost double the national average of 48.2%.

Exceptional Performance in Cambridge Examinations

Our students performed at a high level in the globally recognised Cambridge programme:

  • 51% of students received an A or B in Cambridge AS Level, and
  • 59% of students attained A*, A or B grades in Cambridge A Levels.

Strong Endorsements in NCEA

The commitment and hard work of our NCEA students have also resulted in excellent outcomes:

  • 50% of students achieved Excellence or Merit endorsements, and
  • A total of 543 Course Endorsements were awarded across Excellence and Merit.

Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards

In 2024, several students were recognised with the following prestigious Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards:

  • 3 students achieved Top in the World in their respective subjects
  • 4 students were awarded Top in New Zealand
  • 5 students received High Achievement awards.
