Health Centre – Te Puna Whaiora

Our comprehensive onsite health centre is available to boarding students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and to day students during College hours.

The Health Centre is an integral aspect of our commitment to hauora; holistic wellbeing. It works alongside our pastoral care services, mentoring, and counselling to ensure that all King’s students are thriving in mind, body, and spirit.

Our team of registered nurses and a healthcare assistant uses evidence-based practice in all assessment, treatment and planning of health care provided to our students. Their holistic approach is supported by the College doctor, who is available before school for boarding students and is on-call during business hours Monday to Friday.

The focus of the Health Centre is on educating students on health promotion and health prevention. The nurses provide tools to enable a positive health journey while at the College and beyond.

Psyiotherapy for King's Students

There is an onsite physiotherapy service for students, led by Sarah Fanuatanu from Physio Rehab group. Sarah’s team of qualified physiotherapists provide expert assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for students on a booked appointment basis after school hours at the Health Centre. A student must have permission from a parent or guardian to see a school physiotherapist.

There is a $20 surcharge for each treatment under ACC, and a $40 charge for non-ACC appointments. Email the nurses to book a physio appointment: nurse@kingscollege.school.nz
