Heartland Bank three years ago established an internship programme to offer young Māori talent graduating Year 13 the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience.

The Heartland Bank internship programme has in the past afforded two King's students per year the opportunity to participate.

However, after meeting the five candidates that King's College put forward this year, it was decided that Heartland Bank would take all five on.

Congratulations to our 2019 internship recipients:

  • Hana Knight (Year 13, Taylor)
  • Waiora Morris (Year 13, St John's)
  • Tahu Swann (Year 13, Greenbank)
  • Mika Tuia (Year 13, Parnell)
  • Levi Uluakiahoia (Year 13, School)

These interns will spend six weeks at Heartland Bank this summer, being involved in various projects, learning about how the business runs and settling in to a corporate environment.

Thank you to Jo McNaughton, Māori Language and Culture Specialist at Heartland Bank, for presenting our students with their certificates.

We thank Heartland Bank for this opportunity to provide our students with this invaluable internship, and additionally for their long term support of the College through the provision of scholarships and supporting our First XV rugby programme.
